Are you interested in expanding your knowledge of gender and sexuality and learning actionable ways you can support the LGBTQIA+ community? Participate in the Youth OUTright trainings outlined below! Each of these interactive courses is approximately two hours long and can be completed in person at your school, organization, or business.

 

101: Gender and Sexuality

What is Gender anyway? Why are pronouns so important? How do we form our identities? Let’s explore those questions together. Join Youth OUTright for an interactive session that dives into our relationships with our bodies, culture, and our outward expression. This is an introductory workshop designed for folks at any part of their journey. Learn practical tools to affirm gender-expansive youth.

 
 

202: Creating a Gender Affirming Environment

How can we transform our institutions to affirm and support LGBTQIA+ folks in our spaces? In what ways can our communication evolve to be inclusive and accurate? How do we turn our values into action and hold ourselves accountable to the people we serve? In this session, we will take a look at your organization’s infrastructure and find ways to make your program or organization more accessible to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Add-on: Practice interrupting transphobic and homophobic behavior and refine your approach to conflict in order to reinforce the affirming environment that you’ve created.

 
 

303: Coming Out, Gender Support Plan

What should you do when a young person comes out to you? What is a Gender Support Plan? How is it used? This training is for schools and youth-serving organizations to get specific and utilize Gender Sprectrum’s Gender Support plan to create a forward-looking strategy to support trans and gender expansive youth.

 

Pricing

We offer our courses on a sliding scale to ensure they are accessible to our community partners with varying resources available. We have outlined examples of how our sliding scale works to meet the needs of different types of organizations and businesses. Public schools receive training priority and will not be turned away because of a lack of funds.

Yellow rate: $300/course

  • County & state employee groups

  • Local businesses with less than 10 full-time employees

  • Non-profits with budgets less than $200,000

Orange rate: $450/course

  • Group of less than 20 private school educators

  • Businesses with 25-50 full-time employees

  • Churches with less than 25 members

Green rate: $600/course

  • University faculty & staff

  • Corporations & businesses with more than 50 employees

  • Non-profits with a budget over $500,000

Our top priority is working with our community to create safe, welcoming, and affirming environment where LGBTQIA+ people are valued for who they are. If these prices are not attainable, please reach out to us so we can find a solution.
